Trans-Mix Tank

Problem
As different products (i.e., diesel and gasoline) follow one another in a pipeline, some mixing occurs at the interface. This mix is diverted into a trans-mix tank so that it will not contaminate the product tanks. Measurement of these mixed, low dielectric liquids is difficult, and accurate level measurement is important to prevent spills.

Solution
The 7230 Series HT Digital probe is not effected by dielectric or density changes. The magnetostrictive sensor uses a float with a specific gravity that is lower than all of the pipeline products. This insures that no matter which products, specific gravities or volumes are in the tank, it will not cause level measurement problems. The 7230 Probe also provides interface and temperature outputs.

Benefits
• Accurately measure mixed product
• No recalibration required
• Temperature outputs prevents spills due to hot weather
